1965 Mustang

Project Overview

This Mustang came to the shop because the original engine had a rod knocking and it would not stay in second gear.  The body was in great shape with no rust.  The owner decided to restore the Fastback with a Resto-Mod theme updating the engine with a Ford Motorsports crate engine.  The underside was cleaned, sprayed with epoxy primer and then undercoated.  The rest of the drivetrain was restored as well.

Future plans for the Mustang Resto-Moding include:  Fuel Safe fuel cell, Currie 9" Ford differential,  coil over suspension, rack and pinnion steering,  and four wheel disc brakes and a new paint and ralleypak gauges.
