In this post, we will show and demenstrate the process taken to complete a 1963 Corvette Factory Lacquer Paint job.
The Corvette body is ready for paint. We sanded, masked, and cleaned the body. It’s completely ready for a factory lacquer paint job.
Here you can see that the body has been masked and ready for paint.
We removed the primer at the door hinges so we would have a bare spot of fiberglass with paint over-spray, just like the factory.
We masked off the back windows to prevent over spray from entering the vehicle.
We also masked off the doors. The whole interior compartment is sealed off to keep dust from the inside getting into the paint. You can also see tiny holes here and there on the rear driver side fender to create a clean cut paint job near these holes.
We also masked off the engine compartment so we wouldn’t have to clean up over-spray. This will take time but will save extra time spent to clean and repaint. This will also help in painting the vehicle. That way you don’t have to be as precise with the paint.
