In this post, we will show and demenstrate the process taken to finish our 1963 Corvette Fuel Injection System Zinc Plating.
We gathered up the parts for installing the e-brake cables and found in the judging manual that some of the components need to be zinc plated so we decided this would be a perfect time to get all of our zinc plating done for the fuel Injection system.
Here is one of the components that needed zinc plating for the e-brake cables.
This is The Zinc Plating System. It uses a power supply and a pure zinc bar submerged in an electrolyte solution to plate parts.
Here is the part before plating. You can see the zinc bar submerged in the solution in the back ground.
Here is the part after plating, it has a gray powdery look.
We ran the part through our tumbler and it removed the powdery look.

Here are all the parts after they were plated. After they ran through the tumbler, they were ready to be installed.
