In this post, the team installed the 1963 Corvette body and firewall assembly. We began by installing the body on the chassis. Here are the photos of it as it happened. Also we installed the fire wall insulation and the under dash wire harness.
The body with the lifting fixture hooked up and in position ready to lift.
The body in the air being moved over to the chassis.
The body being lowered onto the chassis.
Inching the body downward and lining up the body mounts.
The body was set down into position.
The chassis and body were finally reunited.
We noticed the remnants of the cars job number on the door so we wrote the number back on.
The only shim position that we never marked was the front position as we didn’t know how many shims it would require. Once installed we found that it required none which is denoted on the frame as a “0”
The accelerator pedal and firewall insulation installed.
Last, the fuse block was reinstalled.
